Jersey Shore

RESTORE THE SHORE
(HIt Pause—the video for some reason loops)
I felt like opening up my final project with a video about what this whole projects about, Hurricane Sandy and its effect on the Jersey Shore. I decided to do my final project on the Jersey Shore because i feel after all the destruction it has done and how many people this storm has hurt we have manage to power through it all. Everyone is coming together to support one another and get people their homes and lives back and to me that is something special. I made a little video to show what the effects of the storm has done and so my viewers can see the devastation and hopefully find it in their hearts to donate to a Hurricane Sandy fund or the Red Cross. So when you watch that video imagine yourself in those peoples situations or maybe that being your home destroyed you would want people to donate so you could get your families life on track so why not do it for these people? The next part of my project is a collage of what the Jersey Shore used to look like. There’s pictures of Wildwood, NJ where my family vacations to all the time, pictures of the Jersey Shore cast who has brought many tourists to the shore, pictures of the beach and the boardwalks.

This next part is the sounds of Hurricane Sandy. If you listen close i incorporated multiple sounds to make this piece. You can hear roaring winds, heavy rain, tree falling, car alarm, thunder and police sirens. I made this sound clip by putting my self in New Jersey at the time of the storm and thought to myself the things i would hear and those are the sounds that came to mind.

The last part of my project i wanted to bring in back to the collage idea and show the aftermath of the storm. I know you have seen this pictures before but i wanted to put them all together in one place for you to see them all at once. I feel all these pictures combined tell a story and encompasses my whole project.

Restore The Shore

This project really hit home for me. I have family and friends that were affected by the storm and to do this project and have people see these photos even if you guys have seen them before I just wanted to remind you that this is what happened and people are still struggling to get their homes back. Many people are suffering and if your are financially able you should donate to one of the sites listed below. Thanks again for visiting the blog.
